Transparent financial management and donation guidelines

Our Financial Principles

The National Unity Party is committed to financial transparency, accountability, and responsible management of all funds. We adhere to strict financial controls and comply with all Gambian electoral laws regarding political party financing.

Eligible Donors

In accordance with Gambian electoral laws, we accept donations from:

  • Gambian citizens and residents
  • Registered members of the National Unity Party
  • Individuals who meet the legal requirements for political donations

We do not accept donations from:

  • Foreign governments or entities
  • Anonymous sources (all donors must be identifiable)
  • Entities prohibited by Gambian law from making political contributions
  • Sources that could create conflicts of interest

Donation Limits

While there are currently no statutory limits on individual donations to political parties in The Gambia, the National Unity Party practices responsible fundraising:

  • We encourage broad-based support from many small donors
  • Large donations may be subject to additional verification
  • We maintain records of all donations as required by law
  • We reserve the right to refuse donations that don't meet our criteria

All donations are recorded and reported in accordance with our internal financial controls and legal requirements.

Use of Funds

Donations and membership fees are used to support:

Our financial records are maintained by the Party Treasurer and reviewed by the National Executive Committee.

Payment Methods

We accept donations through the following secure methods:

  • Online Payments: Secure payment processing via Flutterwave
  • Bank Transfer: Direct transfers to our official bank account
  • Mobile Money: Wave and other mobile money services (when available)
  • Cash/Check: In-person donations with proper receipting

All electronic payments are processed through secure, reputable payment processors. We do not store sensitive payment information on our servers.

Refund Policy

Donations to the National Unity Party are generally non-refundable. However, we will process refunds in the following circumstances:

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] within 30 days of the donation date. Please include your donation reference number and the reason for the refund request.

Receipts and Documentation

We provide documentation for all donations:

  • Electronic Receipts: Automatic email receipts for online donations
  • Official Receipts: Formal receipts available upon request for tax or record-keeping purposes
  • Membership Cards: Official membership cards for registered members
  • Bank Records: Bank statements and transfer confirmations for larger donations
